About us

Curriculum vitae

Ascolteo was founded by Olivier Desmares.

He worked during six years in several software engineering and publishing companies, using technologies such as:

• Solaris, C
• SQL
• real-time embedded systems, assembly language

During the next ten years, he was in charge of the technical department in a small business, mainly in the following fields:

• Solaris, Linux, Windows Server
• SQL and marketing-oriented databases
• Apache, PHP, LDAP
• high-volume laser printing

He is an FSF associate member.

He is also a volunteer trainer at Le Relais 59, a community-based non-profit organization.

Free software

Ascolteo promotes free software and contributes an Ingres driver for the MDB2 abstraction class.

CSS Naked Day

Ascolteo is proud to have participated in the 4^th annual CSS Naked Day, which took place on April 9, 2009. This event aims at promoting the use of Web standards (XHTML and CSS). Participating sites disable their style sheets for the whole day.
